Ladies led the Knights, Squires and Men-at-Arms with chains to the field in period style.  Before the tournament began Father Charles Bidwell blessed the fighters with a historical prayer.  Marshall Sir Douglas of Wentworth then took a pledge from all of the knights to fight with honour and chivalry.

The combatants were clad in historical plate, leather and mail armour from the 14th century as they met in combat with axes, daggers, flails, lances, maces, pole hammers, shields, spears, swords, and warhammers. They agreed to match weapons with five or three clear hits, a yield is met, a weapon is lost, or as otherwise agreed to in period manner.

Our Ladies judged the fighters based on chivalry, honour and skill at arms with prizes from local sponsors.  There were also prizes for best historical costumes for men, women and children.

Prizes donated by Askembla Sewing, Coal Lake Honey Farm, Green Serene, Karrie's Kostume, Quantum Comics & Collectibles, Sacred Grove, Sanctuary Curio Shoppe, Supply Sergeant & Usborne Books.

The Family Field included the games Jousting, Hunker Down, and Little John, as well as medieval board games with Lady Jeannette Dunnett.  There is face painting with our Ladies and the pillaries (stocks).

We proudly featured wonderful performances from Nomadic Tapestry belly dancers!

We greatly welcomed the participation of local merchants in our Medieval Market. With their involvement and support we were able to provide this event for free to the public.  Please support them year round!
